We are TDS. We were established in 2003 to operate tenancy deposit schemes across the UK and to provide dispute resolution services in relation to tenancy deposits. We now operate tenancy deposit schemes in England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland from our head office in Hemel Hempstead and our other offices in Glasgow and Belfast. In 2022 we also launched the New Homes Ombudsman Service. We are collaborative and forward-thinking with our colleagues and customers at the heart of everything we do.

We have a new opportunity within the HR team to join them as a Human Resources Officer.

This is a part-time, permanent role based mainly at our Glasgow TDS office. We’re looking for someone who can be in the office 3–4 days a week, but there’s flexibility to work from home at least one day a week. The successful candidate will need to work 5 hours per day, 5 days a week (Mon-Fri).

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Support the HR team in delivering best practice, business-focused HR advice and guidance to managers and employees based in the Glasgow office.
  • Collaborate with local management to ensure employees have the necessary skills and resources to achieve their objectives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing plans for recruitment, training, restructuring, and succession in partnership with relevant line managers.
  • Coach line managers to motivate their teams and enhance leadership effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of employment policies aligned with HR best practice and current legislation.
  • Proactively raise and address employee relations issues with managers, identifying practical solutions and supporting appropriate action plans.

To be considered for this opportunity you must:

  • Have experience of working effectively in a hands-on Human Resources role.
  • Possess strong knowledge of HR best practice and employment law, with practical experience across recruitment, training and development, employee relations, absence management, and managing disciplinary, grievance, and capability issues.
  • Have experience in developing employment policies aligned with best practice.
  • Be confident in promoting and upholding HR best practice at all times.
  • Demonstrate excellent administration and time management skills.
  • Be capable of producing and analysing HR-related data to support decision-making.
