Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in South Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will play a key part in the secure department by providing accurate, timely and commercially sound estimates for planned works, reactive repairs and project installations. You will work closely with engineers, scheduling team, customers and management to ensure quotations are prepared efficiently and in line with operational, technical and contractual requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent, commercially aware professional to make a real impact within a growing, fast-paced organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimating & Quotation Production β Prepare accurate estimates and quotations for shutters, gates, automatic doors and associated works, ensuring compliance with company pricing structures and customer specifications.
- Technical & Commercial Assessment β Review engineer reports, surveys and technical drawings to produce clear, competitive and profitable quotes.
- Customer & Stakeholder Communication β Act as a key point of contact for customers, engineers and internal teams, providing updates and ensuring clarity throughout the quotation process.
- Operational Coordination β Work collaboratively with all teams to ensure quotations reflect operational capabilities, lead times and materials requirements.
- Performance Reporting β Prepare weekly/monthly estimating and conversion reports, supporting the National Secure Manager with informed operational and commercial decision-making.
- Continuous Improvement β Review estimating processes regularly, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and customer experience.
About You:
Youβre a proactive, detail-driven and organised professional with strong technical understanding and excellent communication skills. You take pride in accuracy, enjoy problem-solving and can manage multiple priorities in a busy commercial environment. You may already be working as an Estimator, Technical Administrator, Coordinator or Engineer within the shutters, gates, industrial doors, automatic doors industry and are now looking to progress your career.
Youβll bring:
- Proven experience within the industrial door, automatic door, shutters or gates industry - essential
- Strong technical understanding with the ability to interpret engineer reports and drawings
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with a methodical approach to workload
- Commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering accurate, profitable quotes
- Confident use of job management, estimating or scheduling software
- A customer-focused mindset and clear, professional communication style
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to attend customer sites when required
