A small but well-known Midlands-based gate, barrier, and access control specialist is looking to expand its engineering team and is now seeking an experienced Gate Automation Engineer to join the business. This is a field-based position covering The Midlands, with weekly visits to the company’s Leicester base to replenish stock and collect kit.

This role would suit an Engineer seeking stability, with no out-of-hours callout rota and no weekend working required—though Saturday overtime is available for those who want it. The company is committed to promoting a strong work-life balance.

The Successful Gate Automation Engineer Will Have:

  • Previous experience with gate automation systems such as CAME, ROGER, BENINCA, or BFT
  • Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining automatic gates and access control systems
  • Basic welding ability and willingness to assist with groundworks during new installations
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of door entry systems, access control panels, and door automation is beneficial
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) – essential for reporting and customer interactions
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations relevant to gate/barrier/door systems
  • Ideally holds an Electrical Installation Qualification

In Return, You'll Receive:

  • Basic Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 (depending on experience and product knowledge)
  • Optional overtime: Weekday overtime paid at standard rate
  • Saturday work (optional) paid at time and a half
  • 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
  • No out‑of‑hours or weekend commitments
  • Fully stocked company van (private use permitted)
  • Fuel card, mobile phone, and uniform provided
  • Health & Safety training and in‑house product training
