The Opportunity

An established and highly respected Facilities Management company and Industrial Door Maintenance specialist is looking to recruit an experienced Industrial Door Engineer to join its expanding engineering team across the South East.

Due to continued growth and increasing demand from its customer base, the company is looking for an additional engineer to carry out the servicing, maintenance, installation and repair of a wide range of industrial door systems.

Candidates can be based anywhere from Northampton down to the South East of England, making this an excellent opportunity for engineers across a broad geographical area.

The company offers an attractive basic salary of up to £42,000, door-to-door pay, 34 days' holiday, an annual bonus and a fully stocked company van with personal use permitted.

The Role

As an Industrial Door Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing a wide range of industrial door systems.
  • Working on roller shutters, sectional overhead doors, high-speed doors, steel doors and associated equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical and electronic faults.
  • Carrying out basic electrical wiring, component replacements and repairs.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown work.
  • Occasionally assisting with loading bay equipment and automatic doors, depending on your experience.
  • Providing a professional, customer-focused service while working independently across your designated territory.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required industry standards.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced Industrial Door Engineers who possess strong technical knowledge and are confident working independently in the field.

  • Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial doors, including roller shutters, sectional doors and high-speed doors.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working on a variety of industrial door manufacturers and control systems.
  • The ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience with loading bay equipment, including dock levellers.
  • Knowledge of automatic doors, gates and barriers.
  • Industry qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 in Industrial Door Maintenance, CSCS, IPAF or PASMA.
