About the Role

Key Responsibilities
What you’ll do at work
- Learn a specialist engineering trade while working towards a recognised Level 3 engineering apprenticeship qualification.
- Develop practical skills in die maintenance, supporting the inspection, repair, adjustment and servicing of production dies and tooling.
- Work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Learn to identify faults and wear, helping to diagnose problems with dies and tooling and understand how they affect production.
- Develop skills in fitting and maintenance, including stripping, cleaning, repairing, assembling and setting tooling.
- Use a range of engineering tools and equipment, developing your knowledge of precision measurement, hand fitting and workshop practices.
- Learn how to read engineering drawings and technical information, developing the ability to work accurately to specifications and tolerances.
- Support preventative maintenance activities, helping to keep production tooling safe, reliable and operating efficiently.
- Develop your problem‑solving skills, learning how to investigate issues, make adjustments and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Build a long‑term engineering career with Marrill Engineering, gaining valuable industry experience, a recognised qualification and the practical skills needed to progress within manufacturing and engineering.
Requirements & Qualifications
- GCSE English Language or English Literature (Grade 4 or above) essential
- GCSE Maths (Grade 4 or above) essential
- Other (Level 2) Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Grade Pass) essential

Working Hours
Monday to Thursday, 6.30am to 4.30pm
40 hours a week
Future Prospects
Full time position upon completion of the apprenticeship
Other requirements
Candidates must have successfully completed a minimum of six of the following units as part of their previous engineering qualification:
- Milling
- Turning
- Hand Fitting
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- CAD
- Welding
