Shape operational excellence across a thriving, expanding dental group. The Dental Management Partners (TDMP) is a growing dental group operating a portfolio of practices across the South of England. We partner with clinicians and practice teams, providing the operational, commercial and people support that allows clinical teams to focus on what they do best - delivering outstanding patient care.
Following sustained growth, we are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support our network of fifteen practices and their Practice Managers. This is a pivotal, multi-site role offering the opportunity to be the trusted operational lead for our Practice Managers, supporting them to run safe, compliant, profitable and patient-focused practices day in, day out.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be accountable for the operational performance, compliance, commercial health and team engagement of fifteen dental practices (currently) located predominantly across Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex. Working closely with each Practice Manager, you will translate group strategy into practical, on-the-ground delivery, driving consistency, raising standards and supporting growth across the portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct line-management, coaching and day-to-day support to fifteen Practice Managers, building capability and confidence across the group.
- Conduct regular practice visits across Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex, ensuring a visible and supportive operational presence at each site.
- Lead monthly one-to-ones, performance reviews and Practice Manager forums to share best practice and embed group standards.
- Monitor KPIs across all fifteen practices - including UDA delivery, private revenue, hygienist utilisation, new patient conversion, recall rates and EBITDA - and work with Practice Managers to drive continuous improvement.
- Review monthly P&Ls with each practice, identifying risks, opportunities and corrective actions, and support annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify and deliver revenue growth and cost-efficiency initiatives across the portfolio.
- Support Practice Managers to meet and exceed CQC requirements, GDC standards and all relevant statutory obligations, championing a culture of patient safety and clinical governance.
- Partner with internal teams to support recruitment, induction, retention and development of clinical and non-clinical teams, promoting a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture.
- Support the integration of newly acquired practices into the group, including systems, processes, branding and culture.
- Lead operational projects that improve standardisation, efficiency and patient experience across the portfolio.
About You:
- Significant multi-site operational management experience, ideally within dentistry, primary care, healthcare or another regulated, multi-branch service environment.
- Proven track record of leading, coaching and development across geographically dispersed sites.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable experience of driving KPI and P&L performance across multiple locations.
- Working knowledge of CQC standards, healthcare compliance and clinical governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting acquisition integration or change programmes is highly desirable.
Skills and personal attributes:
- Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills - able to build trusted relationships with Practice Managers, clinicians and their teams.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise across a complex, multi-site portfolio.
- Confident with data, reporting and practice management systems; comfortable interrogating numbers and turning insight into action.
- Pragmatic problem-solver with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset.
- Patient-focused, resilient, calm under pressure and adaptable in a fast-growing environment.
- A collaborative team player who leads with integrity and humility.
- Comfortable with significant travel across Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
