Are you a high performing planner who wants to develop with a clear path to becoming a head of planning? You would be working with a national house builder with a reputation for building luxury homes in sought-after locations across the East Midlands. We are looking for an ambitious planning manager to become a senior planning manager with the opportunity to progress to Head of Planning in 12 months for a Cambridgeshire-based developer, and you will become a key driver as their business develops.

You will report directly to the regional land director and managing director but work autonomously on managing existing planning applications through outlined and detailed consents. You will be dynamic, ambitious, and hungry to succeed. The business is very fast-paced, and you will be given a lot of autonomy to manage your own work.

You will either be working for a planning consultancy or another property developer/house builder. You will be degree-qualified and MRTPI qualified. You must have extensive experience dealing with planning applications and appeals in the residential property market. Salary on offer is £60-80k complemented by a comprehensive package. Additionally, you will benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities:

As a Town Planning Manager, you will have a central role in supervising and orchestrating planning and development initiatives throughout the East Midlands region. Your duties encompass:

  • Guiding a team of committed planners and fostering their development.
  • Engaging with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure projects align with strategic development objectives.
  • Formulating and presenting planning applications, with ongoing communication with regulatory bodies.
  • Assessing and proposing resolutions for intricate planning and zoning issues.
  • Sustaining a commitment to ongoing research, keeping up to date with local, regional, and national planning regulations and industry best practices.
Key Requirements:
  • Degree qualified and also MRTPI.
  • Currently working for a planning consultancy or residential developer/house developer experience in strategic land.
  • Detailed experience in dealing with residential planning applications and appeals.
  • Bright, ambitious and determined to succeed.
