The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team at the developer’s Leicestershire office. You will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple timber frame residential projects, typically overseeing 3-4 sites at a time. This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional site visits, approximately twice a month, for valuations, client meetings, and subcontractor coordination. Key responsibilities include:
- Procuring and negotiating subcontract packages.
- Conducting pre-let meetings and selecting best-value subcontractors.
- Ensuring tender compliance and cost alignment with technical and construction teams.
- Managing subcontractor payments and monthly valuations.
- Monitoring project costs, forecasts, and budget performance.
- Supporting delivery teams to maintain commercial efficiency across developments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within residential construction.
- Understanding of timber frame construction (advantageous).
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Based in Leicestershire for regular office attendance.
- Team-oriented with a proactive and collaborative approach.
