A leading house builder is looking to appoint an experienced Planning Manager to play a key role in delivering planning permissions across a strategic land portfolio and supporting regional growth targets. This is a high-impact role, working closely with Land, Design & Technical teams to drive sites through the planning process from allocation to consent while managing programmes, consultants and key stakeholder relationships.

The Role

  • Deliver outline, full and hybrid planning permissions across strategic and immediate land
  • Provide expert planning advice to support land acquisition and promotion strategies
  • Lead and manage planning, technical and environmental consultant teams
  • Coordinate planning applications and representations through all stages of the planning process
  • Monitor site programmes, managing risks, actions and dependencies to maintain momentum
  • Liaise with Local Authorities, statutory consultees and external agencies to prioritise delivery
  • Support negotiations on Section 106 agreements and planning conditions
  • Develop and implement planning strategies for strategic sites
  • Prepare regular progress reports, budgets and updates for internal teams and landowners
  • Present proposals at consultations, committees, appeals and public events as required
  • Keep abreast of national and local planning policy changes and advise on business impact

About You

  • Proven experience in planning delivery within housebuilding, land promotion or development
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system, local plans and Section 106 negotiations
  • Confident managing multiple projects, programmes and consultant teams
  • Commercially aware, proactive and solutions-focused
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
