This is an exceptional executive appointment with one of the UK's leading national main contractors. Reporting directly to the Main Board, the National Re-Cladding Director will assume strategic leadership of the business's High-Rise Building remediation programme across the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on key hotspots in London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Nottingham. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at board level and take genuine ownership of one of the most significant and purposeful programmes in UK construction today.
The Role
Operating as the most senior figure within the remediation division, the National Re-Cladding Director will have full strategic and operational accountability for the business's HRB remediation portfolio. This is not an operational delivery role; it is a board-level strategic position, requiring someone who can set direction, build capability, and drive performance across a complex, multi-disciplinary national programme. The successful candidate will have direct oversight of pre-construction, design, commercial and delivery functions, ensuring these teams are aligned, high-performing, and positioned to win and deliver work to the highest standard. Alongside internal leadership, this individual will be a key figurehead in client relationships, industry engagement, and the continued growth of the division's pipeline and reputation.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Setting and executing the national remediation strategy in line with the business's wider board objectives.
- Leading and developing pre-construction, design, commercial and delivery functions across all live and pipeline HRB remediation schemes.
- Driving commercial performance and risk governance across a high-value national portfolio.
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, Responsible Persons, Accountable Persons, funders, and regulators.
- Ensuring full compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, the Gateway process, PAS 9980, and all obligations under the Higher-Risk Buildings regime.
- Overseeing engagement with the Building Safety Regulator and embedding robust Principal Contractor responsibilities across the portfolio.
- Managing the business's involvement with the Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme, including funding compliance and reporting requirements.
Experience Required
You will be a proven senior leader from a main contracting background with a strong track record in façade and cladding remediation on High-Rise and Higher-Risk Buildings. You will have deep, practical knowledge of PAS 9980, EWS1, fire risk appraisals, and the regulatory framework governing HRB remediation in the UK. A thorough understanding of non-compliant cladding systems including ACM, HPL, and related products and the remediation strategies associated with them is essential, as is familiarity with the Building Safety Fund and Cladding Safety Scheme. Above all, you will be an executive-level leader with the presence, credibility, and interpersonal skills to operate at Main Board level, represent the business externally, and bring out the very best in a senior, experienced team.
The Organisation
Our client is a well-established national main contractor with a significant and growing remediation division, a strong forward pipeline, and a genuine commitment to leading the UK building safety agenda. With project activity concentrated across London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Nottingham, this is a business with the scale, the ambition, and the platform to support a truly impactful senior appointment.

Package: Executive car allowance, performance-related bonus, pension, and comprehensive benefits. Location: Nationwide with flexible working arrangements.
