The predicted salary is between 48000 - 84000 £ per year.

I am working with one of the fastest growing privately owned house builders in the south east that is expanding its team and is looking to appoint a land manager. You will be given a clear progression path to land director and critically you will be given a stack of cash to go do deals as the company has heavy private equity investment. The business is already a well-established brand in Surrey and Kent and producing circa 200 units per annum.

You will be an experienced land buyer who has a background and demonstrable history of buying sites in Kent, South London, Surrey and Sussex. You will be either a land buyer ready to make the next step up or an experienced land manager looking for their next challenge. The business is very dynamic and entrepreneurial, and as such you will be given a high level of autonomy to grow and develop the business unit as you see fit. This is a real opportunity to grow and develop your career and buy sites whilst other house builders are standing still.

Critically and firstly you will be a born deal maker and have a track record of doing 3-4 land deals a year.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing off-market land for purchase in Kent, Surrey and South London
  • Managing and updating the letter-writing process and doing manual searches on various prop-tech systems to effectively target areas
  • Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents of potential purchases
  • Overseeing legal, planning and design consultants pre and post-acquisition
  • Keeping up to date with town planning policy and specifically in key areas you are targeting for letter writing
Expected experiences
  • Degree qualified and ideally property related
  • Natural born deal maker doing 3-4 land deals a year consistently
  • Experienced Land Manager or Land Manager ready to make the step up
  • Demonstrable track record of sourcing and acquiring land in Kent, Surrey and South London
  • Currently working for either a national residential developer or high-profile investor or agency
  • Detailed understanding of the planning application and appeals process
  • A strong network of contacts in the land agency world
  • Determined, hungry and ambitious
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team
