The Role:
As a Land Buyer, you’ll play a key role in identifying and engaging landowners of off-market sites suitable for care home and retirement living developments. Your main objective will be to secure qualified meetings, either in-person or virtual, between landowners and the internal land team. Success in this role is directly tied to the volume and quality of meetings arranged. Key responsibilities include:
- Using digital land tools and open-source platforms to identify suitable land parcels.
- Researching land ownership and contact details to initiate direct outreach.
- Making initial contact via phone, email, letter, or face-to-face.
- Qualifying sites and arrange meetings with interested landowners.
- Tracking all activity using the dedicated software.
- Preparing brief site packs for the internal team.
- Reporting regularly on pipeline activity and meeting metrics.
Requirements:
- Self-starter with confidence in cold outreach and lead generation.
- Highly organised, with experience in pipeline and CRM tracking.
- Professional and clear communicator.
- Comfortable working towards performance targets.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Experience using digital land tools (desirable).
- Background in land, property, planning, or commercial sales (desirable).
- Understanding of UK planning policy and land promotion (desirable).
