Are you a engineering manager or technical manager working for one of the large national house builders and have experience working on 150 unit+ projects?

Do you fancy doing something different and have a clear progression to technical director?

I want to speak with you because I am working with an exceptional house builder in Bristol that is growing rapidly. They are looking to expand the technical team with an ambitious senior technical manager to run one of the key projects but also run a team of technical coordinators day to day.

There is a team of 7 currently, but with additional land being bought, this is expected to be the first of many hires into the team, so you will be able to grow and develop your career as you see fit.

You will be well-versed in managing complex house-building projects and have a demonstrable track record in managing engineering and infrastructure packages on housing sites within multi-phased production.

If you are an ambitious and driven technical manager from a house building background or an engineer working within a consultancy, then this is the role for you.

It is expected that you will manage a small team, but as you bring additional skills and experience into the business, you will be tasked with upskilling and broadening the knowledge base on technical aspects of large housing projects.

Its is essential that you have a civil engineering background or qualification as client is looking to appoint someone from this discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle of development stages but have a particularly high involvement in pre-commencement design and engineering work.
  • Appointing and overseeing external consultants in engineering, architecture, and other areas
  • Working closely with the land buyers to manage schemes post-acquisitions.
  • Dealing with onsite construction variation or design solutions

Key Requirements

  • Degree-qualified civil engineer (essential)
  • An experienced technical manager at a national plc house builder
  • Demonstrable track record of managing and delivering 100+ unit housing projects.
  • Detailed understanding of managing engineering and infrastructure elements of house-building projects
  • Very ambitious and of director calibre
