Are you a town planner with appraisal experience or a land/ development manager with detailed expertise in running planning applications? Or even an architect who has moved into a broader development role.

Are you super ambitious and looking to solve problems rather than discussing things in meetings?

Our client is a privately owned national developer based in Leeds and they are looking to expand the senior team with a development director.

This is an addition to the team, and you would work alongside the development director on early-stage design and planning matters in the current and future phases. You will ideally come from a land buying, town planning or architectural background where you have been involved in pre- and post-planning aspects of residential-led schemes.

The projects are all urban regeneration and community-enhancing, and at the heart of the business is a core value of placemaking. It\’s key that you are a values and quality-driven development professional who wants to make a difference to the broader community with projects.

You are expected to have a strong project appraisal and planning background and experience working on large urban projects, and be used to handling multiple projects and working in an energetic and results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Running and managing appraisals on new sites acquisitions
  • Working with the land, technical and planning team to oversee the design and delivery of the current and future phases of the development
  • Managing the detailed planning consents for the next phase on-site
  • Managing internal reports for the development director and group board
  • Liaising with local authority on planning conditions of outline consent
  • Dealing with design variations with internal technical and external architects

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified (ideally property related)
  • Experience of running site appraisals and oversight of planning applications.
  • 7 years + experience working for a leading residential developer or house builder.
  • You will be either a land buyer or assistant development manager used to project managing complex project through from early stage identification through to delivery.
  • Ambitious, driven but have interest in the positive social impact regeneration can have.
