I'm working with a growing strategic land and development business in Cheshire on a Development Manager hire. New homes, care schemes and mixed-use development across England and Wales. This is a proper delivery role with real ownership, taking planning applications from inception through to determination rather than just keeping them ticking over.

The role:

  • Run planning applications from concept through to determination
  • Coordinate consultant teams across planning, highways, ecology, drainage and heritage
  • Manage programmes, budgets and risk across multiple live applications
  • Liaise with local authorities and handle officer queries
  • Support appeals and shape planning strategy on new sites

You:

  • Planning or development background, ideally residential, strategic land, mixed-use or care
  • Strong working knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Confident coordinating external consultants and technical teams
  • Organised and commercially minded, comfortable running several projects at once
  • MRTPI useful but not essential

The package:

  • Basic salary up to £70,000
  • Performance-related bonus
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising with service
  • 38.5-hour week with an early finish on Fridays
  • Company pension, free on-site parking and ongoing development

Genuine ownership from day one. A growing portfolio with real schemes to get your teeth into, not application admin.
