Associate / Associate Director – Planner, Altrincham. Up to £60,000 + benefits. This is an opportunity to join a planning consultancy in their Altrincham office, with hybrid working (2–3 days from home each week).

We’re representing a planning consultancy who are looking to appoint an ambitious Associate or Associate Director to join their Altrincham office. This is an opportunity to play a key role in business development, strategic planning, and the delivery of complex large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business development, securing new work and expanding client networks
  • Lead major applications, appeals and site promotions through the local plan process
  • Contribute to business growth by building strong client relationships and supporting strategic planning across the business
  • Take on line management responsibilities, mentor junior colleagues, and ensure efficient day-to-day project delivery
  • Prepare clear planning strategies and fee proposals with minimal input from Directors
  • Provide proactive project management from inception to completion
  • Represent the business at industry events, building networks and client relationships
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of planning legislation and practice across England and Wales
  • Help ensure smooth workflows and efficient processes across the office and project teams

Requirements

  • Proven track record in delivering complex, large-scale planning applications
  • Strong knowledge of the planning system, legislation, and policy framework
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Confident client-facing ability with strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience of line management, mentoring and supporting team development
  • Commercial awareness with business development experience and networking skills
  • Salary up to £60,000 + benefits
