We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager reporting directly to the HR Director who will have responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the Health, Safety & Environmental activities, driving a positive culture whilst ensuring compliance with required statutory obligations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the Health & Safety Culture Development, providing support and guidance to Leaders at all levels of the business. They will also be required to ensure that the company is a safe working environment for all employees and activities, using best practice to improve safety and minimise environmental impact.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are :
- Lead the business in cultural continual improvement strategy and development of a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
- Ensure statutory compliance obligations in all areas pertaining to Environmental, health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Management of ISO 45001 & 14001 certifications.
- Managing key Targets and objective and driving a continuous improvement programme.
- Managing and development of the Health, Safety & Environmental team members.
- Leading the Health & Safety Committee to drive best practices and employee engagement.
- Lead role in the company’s disaster recovery plan for Health Safety & Environmental.
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- Experience in a similar role is essential (manufacturing industry desirable).
- Good attention to detail and an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- Recognised Environmental qualification appropriate to the role.
Working week:
37.5 hours per week
Mon to Thu 7.30 - 16.30 (45-minute lunchbreak)
Fri 7.30 – 12.00 - Flexitime would be applicable
Salary:
Up to £70k dependent on experience.
