On behalf of a leading UK property developer, we are supporting the appointment of an experienced MEP Construction/Project Manager on a Fixed Term Contract to lead the delivery of building services across a prestigious, high-value central London development. This role will take ownership of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction and installation activities, working closely with senior leadership, project stakeholders, consultants and specialist supply chain partners to ensure safe, commercially sound and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all MEP building services delivery for the development, operating with a commercially focused and autonomous approach
- Act as a key member of the project delivery team, supporting a collaborative and proactive management culture
- Manage relationships across consultants, designers, main contractors and specialist subcontractors to ensure successful installation delivery
- Provide technical and commercial guidance to the project team, supporting procurement of contractors and specialist trades
- Ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety, welfare and sustainability in line with CDM regulations and company requirements
- Liaise with corporate Health, Safety, Environment and Quality teams to maintain compliance and best practice
- Identify, manage and mitigate project risks throughout the construction lifecycle
- Lead commissioning, testing and validation of all MEP systems to achieve successful project handover
- Act as the interface between the project and statutory utilities to ensure timely service connections
- Review technical designs, specifications and engineering solutions to ensure optimal project outcomes
- Participate in tender reviews, contractor selection and package award processes
- Track project progress, implement action plans and maintain programme performance
- Support procurement of specialist materials and high-specification equipment where required
- Coordinate handover with building management teams, including review of maintenance and operational strategies
Experience Required
- Proven experience as an MEP Construction/Project Manager within a recognised UK contractor or developer
- Experience delivering complex projects with significant MEP value
- Background within high-end residential, hospitality, heritage or technically complex developments around the £100M mark or higher
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing project financial performance
- Excellent understanding of UK construction processes, regulations and industry best practice
- Experience managing commissioning, validation and project handover phases
- Familiarity with BIM environments and review of O&M documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and supply chain coordination experience
- CSCS certification preferred; NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification advantageous
