We are working on behalf of an industry leading electrical and controls company seeking an experienced Control Systems Project Manager to deliver electrical and automation projects across the UK. This role will suit a technically strong Project Manager with experience in electrical control systems, PLC/SCADA integration, panel builds, and commissioning, capable of managing projects from design through to handover within regulated UK environments.
Responsibilities:
- Take full lifecycle ownership from bid handover through design, build, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, and client handover.
- Manage programmes, budgets, variations, risk registers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate electrical design, panel manufacture, PLC/SCADA integration, and site teams.
- Oversee testing and commissioning, including FAT/SAT and production of O&M documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, RAMS, permits, and relevant electrical standards (BS 7671).
- Act as the main client contact, providing progress reporting and commercial oversight.
Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience on UK-based electrical or control systems projects (power generation, data centres, utilities, industrial automation, or critical infrastructure).
- Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and control panels/MCCs.
- Experience managing FAT/SAT and site commissioning activities.
- Ability to read and review SLDs, schematics, I/O lists, and AutoCAD/EPLAN drawings.
- Solid understanding of CDM 2015 and safe site practices.
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing communication skills.
- Degree/HND or equivalent experience in Electrical/Control Engineering desirable.
- Relevant PM certification and 18th Edition advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence required.
