Head of Environment, Health, and Safety

Job Title: Head of Health, Safety and Environment (SHE)

Location: Flexible with national travel (United Kingdom)

Salary: Up to£100,000 DOE plus £7k car allowance and 25% bonus

We are currently recruiting for an important compliance position within a leading Telecoms business in the UK. This role will require an experienced Health and Safety professional to lead the department through a busy 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and lead the company’s Safety, Health, and Environmental strategy to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and promote a strong safety culture.
• Lead and mentor a team of SHE professionals and collaborate with integrated teams across the business to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Oversee the development and refinement of management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure robust compliance and proactive risk management.
• Lead crisis management efforts during major SHE emergencies or incidents, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and learning outcomes are achieved.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proven senior leadership experience with substantial expertise in transforming Health & Safety cultures within multi-location utility, construction, or telecoms environments.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, including auditing experience, and NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 6 or equivalent qualification.
• Exceptional ability to operate in complex environments with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating resilience, ambiguity management, and clear communication.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
• Expertise in strategic risk management discussions, influencing cross-departmental teams, and developing effective mitigation plans.
