Driving operational excellence within the Telecom market. TDA Telecoms are currently hiring for a contract role as a Data Centre Engineer based in London. Due to new projects starting in 2025, we are looking to grow the team and add some experienced engineers to support with our growth.
Key Responsibilities and Experience
- Proficient in designing backgrounds with detailed Engineering, Infrastructure diagrams, and MOPS.
- Skilled in installing Rectifiers, Fuse Panels, and Patch Panels (including high-density fiber patch panels).
- Experienced in setting up racks, cabinets on raised floors, and slap floors.
- Knowledgeable about installing DC power cables and connecting them to Mini-BDFBs while following safety procedures.
- Well-versed in grounding requirements for equipment, racks, and facilities.
- Experienced in installing, terminating, and testing data center interlink cabling (copper and fiber optic).
- Proficient in fault finding network cabling, tracing and testing connections, and resolving issues using optical light sources and power meters.
- Skilled in industry-standard fiber cleaning, bend radius, fiber running, and fiber management procedures.
- Capable of installing multi-vendor DWDM equipment, including Infinera, ALU, and Juniper equipment.
Qualifications
- Formal Education Degree in Electronics preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years’ experience of related installation, site audit, and site survey experience.
- Full UK driving license.
