Overview: TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients through Global Transaction Banking (GTB), Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), and Global Markets (GM). The firm works with clients around the world, focusing selectively and strategically on key global financial centers: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Position Summary: Export & Agency Finance originates medium and long term loans guaranteed by US, European and Asian sovereign Export Credit Agencies (ECAs). The TDS EAF strategy is two‑fold, to support the financing needs of TDBG franchise clients and generate accretive investments for the bank. EAF’s mandate extends across a broad number of industries and to borrowers located around the world. This is a maternity cover position with independent origination responsibilities and direct exposure to CIB RMs, DCM, and other business lines.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support senior Origination team by identifying new ECA loan opportunities
  • Become familiar with TDS clients across asset intensive industries (Telecom, Aviation, Industrials, Power, Mining, Defence, others)
  • Review credit tools and financials to understand client’s capital structure
  • Develop relationships with key deal sourcing partners: external – banks, borrowers, exporters, ECAs; internal – credit management, investment banking, corporate banking, global transaction banking, debt capital markets
  • Represent TD at annual industry conferences – London, internationally
  • Manage deal pipeline via CRM tools (Salesforce, internal tracking spreadsheets)
  • Run profitability analysis and draft business opportunity memorandums
  • Work closely with regional EAF teams in the US, Toronto, and London
  • Build and manage a strong origination pipeline through direct client engagement, strategic market analysis, and internal referrals

Pitch Involvement:

  • Prepare pitch decks and discussion materials
  • Arrange and engage in client calls and prepare call reports
  • Assist in term sheet creation and negotiation
  • Keep an organized tracking of origination activity with adequate reporting
  • Collaborate with product partners (CIB, DCM, derivatives, FX, rates)
  • Support deal communication with IB and corporate banking RMs
  • Identify opportunities for cross‑sell GTB products and pursue the opportunity with GTB colleagues
  • Become familiar with rules and norms associated with each Export Credit Agency

Assist in Loan Closing:

  • Post mandate, prepare deal summary for credit management
  • Review and negotiate draft loan documentation with clients
  • Assist in execution of loan syndication strategy

Working Capital Solutions: WCS helps companies optimize cash flow cycles, reduce funding gaps, and improve financial stability, enabling growth and operational efficiency. WCS develops client‑centric solutions to help companies manage short‑term liquidity needs via trade payable (supply chain finance, reverse factoring, forfaiting) and trade receivable financing (factoring, forfaiting). Clients primarily include Fortune 500 companies with head offices in North America and Europe. WCS works closely with internal TD partners to provide One‑TD solutions.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Support senior RMs to meet client requirements, identify new business opportunities, and assist in execution of the WCS strategy
  • Proactively identify and originate working capital solutions opportunities, including trade receivables and trade payables finance, with senior WCS RMs and corporate and investment banking RMs
  • Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and running of working capital analysis models and sectorial research to support commercial efforts
  • Keep an organized tracking of the origination activity with adequate reporting
  • Prepare presentations and discussion materials and term sheets

Job Requirements:

  • Strong team‑player attitude is a must
  • Strong MS suite skills (PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote), particularly PowerPoint for presentations
  • Fluency in Gen AI and LLM technologies and tools
  • Familiarity with financial statements and understanding of corporate credit analysis
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, proficient at Excel modeling
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • High level of self‑motivation and initiative
  • Thorough understanding of financial markets
  • Global political and financial awareness
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt presentation style to client
