We are looking for a Transport Planner / Transport Coordinator for our client in Bristol. They are a waste management and recycling company providing reliable skip hire, wheelie bin collections, commercial waste solutions and recycling services across Bristol, Bath and the South West.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Transport Planner / Transport Coordinator to help optimise and coordinate our client's waste collection and delivery operations. You will play a key role in planning efficient routes, scheduling vehicles and drivers, and supporting the smooth running of daily transport activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimise daily transport routes for waste and recycling collections
  • Schedule vehicles and drivers to meet service requirements
  • Monitor and respond to changes in workload or customer needs
  • Liaise with customer service, operations and drivers to ensure excellent service delivery
  • Support compliance with hours, health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Use transport and routing systems to record and track movements

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in route planning, transport coordination, or similar role (logistics experience is beneficial)
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and routing / planning systems
  • Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Waste management or recycling industry experience is a plus but not essential
