The role shapes technology solutions that meet regulatory obligations, strengthen supervisory controls, and manage conduct and trade-related risks.

Working across Compliance, Supervision, Global Markets, Product, Architecture, Engineering, Data, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Risk, the analyst will lead requirements for complex initiatives from discovery through implementation and benefits realisation. Operating with autonomy, the successful candidate will advise senior stakeholders, define scope and analysis strategy, translate regulatory and business outcomes into system and data requirements, manage cross-programme risks and dependencies, assure requirements quality and traceability, and coach other analysts.

Required Skills:

  • Stakeholder Leadership and Requirements Governance
  • Build trusted partnerships with senior business, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology leaders, aligning regulatory and business strategy with investment and delivery priorities.
  • Define analysis strategy, scope, engagement, and governance for complex initiatives across products, platforms, jurisdictions, and delivery teams.
  • Lead decision forums, resolve ambiguity and competing priorities, and translate obligations and business needs into capabilities, requirements, user stories, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Own requirements quality, prioritisation, baselining, sign-off, change control, traceability, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

Systems, Process, and Solution Analysis

  • Analyse end-to-end processes, systems, data flows, controls, and operating models to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and assure current- and future-state models, capability maps, data-flow diagrams, use cases, and decision models.
  • Assess impacts across people, process, policy, data, technology, integrations, controls, vendors, and jurisdictions.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering, data, and control teams to evaluate options and promote scalable, resilient, secure, auditable solutions aligned with enterprise strategy.

Delivery, Traceability, and Assurance

  • Maintain traceability from regulatory and business outcomes through requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, controls, and post-implementation validation.
  • Set quality standards, assure requirements and acceptance criteria, and resolve gaps before delivery commitments.
  • Influence roadmaps, backlogs, releases, and sequencing by clarifying value, dependencies, risks, capacity, and minimum viable outcomes.
  • Represent analysis in programme, architecture, risk, and change forums; monitor scope and cross-initiative dependencies; and report delivery readiness, control effectiveness, adoption, and benefits.

Data, Controls, and Regulatory Analysis

  • Analyse trading, order, reference, market, communications, and supervisory data to identify quality gaps, control weaknesses, coverage limitations, and emerging risks.
  • Use SQL and advanced analytical techniques for profiling, mapping, lineage, reconciliation, control validation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Define data requirements, business rules, transformations, quality thresholds, exceptions, and evidence needs; present material findings and drive sustainable remediation.

Testing, Implementation, and Operational Readiness

  • Define requirements-based testing and acceptance across business outcomes, regulatory obligations, controls, data, integrations, and non-functional needs.
  • Oversee system, integration, user, operational, regression, and control-effectiveness testing; lead clarification, defect triage, risk assessment, and go/no-go recommendations.
  • Manage delivery of functionality, data, and controls; shape migration, cutover, training, communications, operational readiness, and post-implementation validation; and drive durable remediation of significant issues.

Practice Leadership and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain strong knowledge of conduct, supervision, market-abuse, financial-services, and data-control requirements and assess their technology implications.
  • Champion delivery, risk, security, data, architecture, model-governance, and requirements-management standards.
  • Improve analysis methods and reusable knowledge, coach analysts, act as a subject-matter expert, and identify opportunities to simplify technology, strengthen controls and data quality, reduce risk, and increase business value.

Education and Experience

  • Degree or technical qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Typically eight or more years of progressive experience in business systems analysis, technology delivery, financial services, compliance technology, supervision, trade surveillance, or Global Markets.
  • Proven leadership of complex, high-risk, cross-functional or enterprise initiatives, including analysis strategy, requirements governance, stakeholder influence, facilitation, and executive communication.
  • Expert knowledge of requirements practices, software delivery lifecycles, Agile and hybrid delivery, architecture governance, testing, implementation, and operational readiness.
  • Advanced SQL and data-analysis skills, including complex datasets, lineage, controls, and analytical findings; experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong analytical, systems-thinking, problem-solving, organisational, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously across global teams and competing priorities.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle, order flow, market structure, front-office processes, Conduct Supervision, trade surveillance, market-abuse monitoring, regulatory compliance, or another financial-services control function.
