Job Description:

Team:

Operate as an integral member of the Global Precious Metals Operations team, supporting a positive, inclusive and control-focused environment across London, Toronto and Singapore. Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office, counterparties, custodians, depositories, Technology and other Operations teams to ensure timely communication and resolution of trade, confirmation, settlement and reconciliation issues. Support global handovers and cross-location coverage, sharing clear status updates on outstanding confirmations, settlement deliverables, cash and metal breaks, depository reconciliation items and client queries. Contribute to team capability through knowledge sharing, procedure maintenance, cross-training and support for colleagues across the end-to-end Global Precious Metals process. Execute complex Global Precious Metals transactions accurately and on time, in line with approved procedures, controls, cut-offs and service level agreements.

Customer:

Provide timely, accurate and professional support to internal and external clients throughout the confirmation and settlement lifecycle. Build effective working relationships by responding to queries, explaining operational requirements and coordinating the resolution of confirmation, settlement, cash, metal and depository-related issues. Identify and elevate issues that may affect clients, settlement timeliness or service quality, engaging the appropriate Operations, Front Office, Middle Office, Technology, custodian or depository contact to drive resolution.

Shareholder:

Support the timely and accurate completion of Global Precious Metals confirmations, settlements, cash and metal movements, and post-settlement reconciliations. Review processes and controls to identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, stronger exception management and reduced operational risk. Investigate and elevate non-standard, aged or high-risk items, including unmatched confirmations, failed or delayed settlements, cash or metal breaks, SSI discrepancies and depository reconciliation differences. Prioritise daily activity against market and currency cut-offs, client commitments, global handovers and service level requirements.

Role:

Process and monitor Global Precious Metals trades through the confirmation, settlement and reconciliation lifecycle, including gold, silver, platinum, palladium and other supported precious metals products. Review trade economics and settlement details in Murex SaaS, investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrections with Front Office, Middle Office, counterparties and Technology. Prepare, issue, match and follow up standard and bespoke confirmations, including management of outstanding paper confirmations, unmatched SWIFT messages, affirmations and client chasers. Process and monitor cash and metal settlements, including netting, payment and receipt instructions, physical metal instructions, depository movements and same-day deliverables, ensuring relevant cut-offs and controls are met. Complete daily cash, metal inventory and depository reconciliations using approved platforms, investigate breaks, retain appropriate evidence and elevate aged or material exceptions promptly. Perform maker-checker and release controls accurately, validating settlement instructions, counterparties, amounts, value dates and other key trade details before confirmation or release. Maintain clear London, Toronto and Singapore handovers, providing complete status updates on pending confirmations, settlements, reconciliation breaks, client queries and operational risks. Respond to queries from clients, counterparties, custodians, depositories and internal stakeholders, taking ownership through to resolution and escalating where required. Produce and support management information, key risk indicators and control reporting covering confirmation queues, settlement status, reconciliation exceptions, aged items and service performance. Contribute to procedure updates, cross-training, testing, new product readiness, system changes and automation initiatives that improve scalability, control effectiveness and client experience.
