The High Touch Equities Business Support role provides front-office business and technology support for high touch cash equities trading, sales trading, and related execution workflows. The role is embedded close to the trading desk and is responsible for ensuring the stability, resilience, and continuous improvement of critical trading platforms, workflows, and operational processes.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to traders, sales traders, COO office, product owners, technology teams, operations, compliance, and external vendors, helping to resolve issues quickly, reduce operational risk, and deliver an excellent front-office user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day business and technical support for high touch equities trading applications, workflows, and users on the trading floor.
  • Monitor production services, trading platforms, order flow, market data, FIX connectivity, and related infrastructure to ensure operational stability and timely issue detection.
  • Support FIX client connectivity across onboarding, certification, session configuration, connectivity testing, issue diagnosis, and production monitoring for client order flow.
  • Triage, investigate, resolve, and escalate production incidents, ensuring clear communication of business impact, root cause, resolution status, and next steps.
  • Partner with traders, sales traders, product owners, developers, infrastructure teams, operations, compliance, and vendors to resolve front-to-back workflow issues.
  • Support application releases, configuration changes, user acceptance testing, production deployments, and post-release verification.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring enhancements, controls improvement, and process simplification.
  • Support business continuity, contingency planning, resiliency testing, and operational risk management activities.
  • Regulatory lead from a business/trading platform perspective with initiatives like trade and transaction reporting driving operating model design improvements, stakeholder and vendor engagement.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience in front-office application support, production support, business support, or trade support within equities using Fidessa.
  • Strong understanding of high touch equities trading workflows, order management, execution lifecycle, trade capture, allocations, confirmations, and post-trade processes.
  • Knowledge of trading platforms, order management systems, market data, FIX protocol, connectivity, and real-time trading support processes.
  • Hands-on experience supporting FIX client connectivity, including FIX session setup, client onboarding, message flow analysis, sequence number management, drop copy, heartbeat/session issues, and coordination with clients, vendors, and network teams.
  • SQL capability for data interrogation, reconciliation, reporting, and production issue analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain calm, organised, and decisive in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and commitment to operational excellence.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience supporting cash equities, programme trading, algorithmic trading, DMA/DSA, market making, ETFs, or related electronic trading flows.
  • Knowledge of regional market structure, exchange connectivity, regulatory reporting, and control obligations affecting equities trading.
  • Experience working with global teams across EMEA, Americas, and APAC support models.
  • Understanding of operational resilience, service ownership, business continuity, and production risk frameworks.
