The Qualys Security Engineer is responsible for refreshing and re-baselining Qualys Cloud integrations across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role ensures all in-scope cloud assets are onboarded for vulnerability scanning, aligned with established remediation workflows and supported through robust operational documentation. The engineer will configure, optimize and support Qualys VMDR, CSAM and EASM capabilities while providing ongoing BAU support and reporting.
Your responsibilities:
- Refresh and re-baseline Qualys Cloud integrations across AWS, Azure and GCP.
- Configure and validate cloud connectors and cloud asset discovery.
- Configure and optimize Qualys VMDR scanning and reporting.
- Configure and tune External Attack Surface Management (EASM).
- Support Cybersecurity Asset Management (CSAM).
- Align vulnerability findings with remediation workflows.
- Create operational documentation, runbooks and support procedures.
- Develop dashboards and vulnerability reports.
- Provide Qualys BAU support and platform optimization.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure and security stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team on data modelling and/or technical best practices.
- Support the wider team with other ad-hoc design or analysis work.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- 5-7 years of Qualys VMDR administration and vulnerability management.
- Experience with AWS, Azure and GCP cloud integrations.
- Hands-on experience with CSAM and EASM.
- Knowledge of vulnerability remediation lifecycle.
- Experience creating operational documentation and runbooks.
- ServiceNow or ITSM integration knowledge.
- PowerShell or Python scripting.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience of non-tabular data and event-based data processing.
- Understanding of data lifecycle management.
- Experience of working with data in Databricks.
