Role Summary
We are seeking profiles for specialist roles supporting environment and release management across the programme.
The roles require strong governance, coordination, and delivery oversight to ensure platform stability and successful release execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Environment Manager β Key Responsibilities
β’ Own and coordinate the planning, allocation and scheduling of all non-production environments in line with the programme roadmap
β’ Oversee and manage all non-production environments (e.g. Dev/Test, Pre-Production, Performance) ensuring availability and readiness
β’ Forecast environment capacity and data requirements based on upcoming delivery and testing demand
β’ Act as the focal point to triage and resolve environment issues, coordinating with relevant support teams
β’ Manage environment lifecycle activities including patching, outages, maintenance windows and decommissioning
β’ Ensure environment performance, monitoring and stability are maintained at all times
β’ Drive stakeholder alignment on environment usage, balancing competing priorities across delivery teams
β’ Own and continuously improve environment processes, including:
Automated environment provisioning
Data refresh cycles
Access management
Define and manage user access controls and governance across environments
Lead continuous improvement through RCA analysis, identification of bottlenecks, and optimisation of environment suitability (e.g. E2E readiness)
Provide clear communication and reporting on environment status, risks and constraints
Context: The Environment Manager is accountable for orchestrating environment usage and ensuring releases and testing can proceed without disruption.
2. Release Manager β Key Responsibilities
β’ Own and govern the end-to-end release and change management process across all vendors and platforms
β’ Ensure the release framework is fit for purpose, continuously improving processes and controls
β’ Plan and manage release lifecycle activities, including scheduling, deployment, and post- release validation
β’ Maintain and enhance Go/No-Go (G/N-G) governance, ensuring all checkpoints (testing, security, transition) are complete
β’ Ensure complete auditability and traceability of all production releases
β’ Review and coordinate codebase and deployment conflicts, ensuring accuracy and production stability
β’ Drive automation of build and deployment processes where feasible
β’ Ensure robust rollback and contingency plans are in place for all releases
β’ Coordinate with stakeholders to align release schedules, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks
β’ Chair deployment readiness and G/N-G meetings, ensuring all IT and business readiness criteria are met
β’ Provide operational support during release cycles, including issue resolution and escalation management
β’ Coordinate activities across multiple business and technology teams to ensure smooth, controlled deployments
β’ Manage secure and auditable access to source control systems
β’ Ensure adherence to SDLC, governance standards, and audit requirements (e.g. SOX, internal compliance)
β’ Validate that all approvals and change controls (CHG) are in place prior to implementation
β’ Oversee production support activities, including approval of critical data changes
β’ Manage Pre-Production refresh cycles in alignment with testing and release schedules to minimise disruption
β’ Review and approve code and data changes across production and lower environments
