Act as Collibra Technical SME for data governance and metadata management platform to provide solutions for business use cases, integrations, develop workflows using BPMN/groovy scripts and manage user/asset onboarding.

Configure and extend Collibra operating models (domains, asset types, attributes, relationships) as per use cases. Engage and implement data governance strategies, metadata management standards, user guides, KPIs & metrics.

Your responsibilities:

  • Platform Configuration & Development

Modify Collibra operating model to maintain asset/meta model for various use cases. Collaborate with Data Governance Office, Stewards, Data Owners, and Engineering teams for various use cases. Engage and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategies and roadmaps, governance structures, roles, and responsibilities. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and design reviews for the team. Involvement in governance KPIs, adoption metrics, and maturity roadmap. Maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation. Conduct training and awareness programs on data governance. Run training and playbacks, produce end-user guides, and create FAQ/runbooks. Knowledge on building metadata extraction and lineage extraction capabilities from various sources like Snowflake, Glue, Postgres, Erwin, Qlik Sense etc. Good to have knowledge on different Collibra console features, User roles & permissions setup, Dashboard readiness and edge configurations.

  • Workflow Design & Automation

Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end workflows using BPMN 2.0 standard within Collibra as well as Groovy scripting. Translate business requirements into efficient, scalable, and reusable workflow solutions. Knowledge on building workflows for key governance processes such as:

  • Business glossary curation & approval
  • Data assets onboarding & approval
  • Reporting like stats collection, job execution status etc.
  • Dataset/tags certification, rule exceptions, and waiver workflows
  • Automation use cases to handle manual tasks
  • Access requests & approval

Experience on dynamic workflow logic, including conditional routing, approvals, and exception paths. Implement workflows using user tasks, service tasks, timers, gateways, timer & boundary events, multi-step & multi-instance approvals, notification tasks and workflow variables. Knowledge on using Collibra APIs (e.g. assetapi, attributeapi etc.) and implementation using features like dynamic user/role assignment and validation. Performance-tuning of workflows minimizing runtime and resource usage.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong experience in Data Governance and Metadata Management using Collibra
  • Must have working experience on Collibra workflows using BPMN/Groovy and APIs
  • Must have working experience on modifying Collibra operating model
  • Must have Collibra Ranger or Solution Architect certification
  • Must have ~5 years of Collibra implementation experience that includes Collibra Edge configuration, Workflow development and Collibra DIP configurations

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Good to have knowledge on metadata and lineage extraction process
  • Good to have knowledge on tools integration like Big ID, Immuta, Glue, BI tools etc.
