Your responsibilities:
The SAP Test Lead is responsible for defining, managing, and executing the end-to-end testing strategy within the SAP S/4HANA transformation program, particularly in a brownfield (system conversion) environment.
This role ensures that all business processes, integrations, and technical components are thoroughly validated to support a stable, high-quality transition to a modern, cloud- aligned SAP platform.
As part of the organization’s business transformation journey, the SAP Test Lead plays a critical role in enabling clean core adoption, ensuring that standardized SAP S/4HANA processes function effectively across key business domains.
The role focuses on delivering high-quality releases with minimal business disruption, while supporting continuous transformation and AI-ready system capabilities.
The SAP Test Lead is responsible for coordinating test planning, test execution, defect management, and quality governance across multiple workstreams, including Finance, Sales, Procurement, GIST, and Master Data.
This includes managing System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and cutover validation activities.
Working closely with functional teams, environment managers, BASIS, release managers, and business stakeholders, the role ensures that test environments are ready, test data is available, and defects are resolved within agreed timelines.
The SAP Test Lead also ensures alignment with enterprise testing standards, tools, and methodologies.
Additionally, the role supports the decoupling strategy by validating integrations, APIs, and side-by- side extensions (e.g., SAP BTP), ensuring seamless interaction between the SAP core and external systems.
Overall, the SAP Test Lead is instrumental in ensuring solution quality, business confidence, and successful program delivery, while enabling a future-ready, scalable, and innovation-driven SAP landscape.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Manage end-to-end SAP landscape environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PRE-PROD, PROD).
Strong experience in SAP testing lifecycle management (SIT, UAT, Regression, Cutover).
Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations (preferably brownfield/system conversion).
Good understanding of core SAP business processes:
o Finance (FI)
o Sales & Distribution (SD)
o Procurement (MM)
o Supply Chain / GIST
o Master Data
Proven experience in test planning, strategy definition, execution, and reporting.
Strong skills in defect management and triage processes.
Experience with test management tools such as:
o SAP Solution Manager (Test Suite)
o JIRA / HP ALM / Azure DevOp
Ability to coordinate with business users, functional teams, BASIS, and environment teams.
Experience working in large transformation programs with multiple parallel releases.
Understanding of test governance frameworks and quality assurance standards.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
Experience in SAP S/4HANA brownfield conversion projects.
Understanding of clean core principles and impact on testing strategy.
Experience with test automation tools:
o Tricentis Tosca
o Worksoft
o Selenium (basic exposure)
Knowledge of continuous testing and DevOps practices.
Experience testing:
o APIs and middleware integrations (SAP CPI / Integration Suite)
o Side-by-side extensions (SAP BTP)
