The M365 Technical Project Manager will lead and coordinate the Microsoft 365 Project within a major company merger and integration programme. The role will manage M365 delivery with touchpoints across Information Management Governance, M365 data migration and integration, Data Governance & Security and Applications, including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI dependencies for a large scale tenant to tenant user and data migration following a company merger and now into delivery of the user, data and systems ‘carve out’ and integration.

The role requires a technically credible project manager who can understand the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, coordinate specialist teams, manage cross-workstream dependencies and translate technical activity into clear delivery plans, risks, decisions and programme-level reporting.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and manage the M365 Project delivery plan, including scope, plan, budget, resourcing, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, deliverables, decision points, supplier management, outcomes & project stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate M365 tenant to tenant data migration and integration activities across SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online and associated Microsoft 365 services.
  • Work with Information Management Governance stakeholders to align delivery with requirements for information architecture, identity consolidation, Exchange tenant migrations, metadata, retention, permissions, ownership, site lifecycle and content controls.
  • Manage dependencies with Cyber Security compliance and Data Governance projects, including identity, access, Microsoft Entra ID, data classification, compliance, GDPR and internal security policy considerations.
  • Coordinate with Applications and Digital teams where M365 interacts with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, business applications, reporting dashboards and process automation.
  • Support migration readiness (target tenant architecture & readiness), cutover coordination, business validation, defect management, transition planning and post-migration support & stabilisation.
  • Facilitate technical workshops, project meetings, readiness reviews and governance sessions with internal teams, and relevant third parties.
  • Maintain project RAID logs, action trackers, decision logs, dependency maps and project reporting inputs.
  • Translate technical delivery activity into clear, accessible updates for business, programme and senior stakeholders.
  • Support business change, communications, training input and adoption readiness where Microsoft 365 changes impact end users.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proven experience project managing Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive or digital workplace delivery in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing M365 migration, tenant migration / integration, collaboration platform consolidation or merger/integration activity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online and Power Platform.
  • Ability to manage dependencies across Information Management, data migration, Cyber Security, Data Governance, Applications and business change workstreams.
  • Understanding of information governance, records management, metadata, permissions, retention, classification and content lifecycle principles.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, M365 security and compliance capabilities, GDPR and internal policy controls.
  • Strong project delivery discipline, including planning, RAID management, reporting, governance, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical delivery activity into clear business-facing updates.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers, Service Integrators and internal delivery teams.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Project management certification or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft 365 certification or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, SharePoint Online administration or M365 compliance tooling.
  • Experience delivering M365 workstreams within merger, acquisition, divestment or large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience in oil and gas, energy, regulated or complex enterprise environments.
