This role will play a key part in shaping the future of AI-driven customer engagement for one of the UK leading retailers. You will lead the architecture and design of intelligent e-commerce chatbot platforms, leveraging Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, cloud-native technologies, and enterprise integrations. The role requires strong technical leadership, architecture governance and innovation to deliver scalable, secure and personalized conversational experiences.
Your responsibilities:
- Architect and design end-to-end AI-powered e-commerce chatbot solutions supporting customer service, product discovery, recommendations and order management journeys.
- Define scalable and secure conversational AI architectures leveraging LLMs, NLP/NLU technologies, prompt engineering and RAG frameworks.
- Design integrations with e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, ERP applications, payment gateways, customer support tools and enterprise knowledge repositories.
- Establish architecture standards, best practices and governance frameworks for AI-powered applications and services.
- Drive technical decisions around AI models, vector databases, cloud services, API strategies, and system integration patterns.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, UX teams and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, Responsible AI and enterprise governance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams while driving solution quality and delivery excellence.
