The Role : Solaris Administrator
Your responsibilities:

Administer, maintain, and support Oracle Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 environments.

Manage and support Solaris Zones (Global and Non-Global Zones) including provisioning, migration, and troubleshooting.

Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security hardening of Solaris servers.

Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and resolve OS-level incidents and problems.

Manage filesystems, storage, user administration, backups, and system recovery activities.

Support legacy applications running on Solaris platforms and coordinate with application teams during deployments.

Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and technical runbooks.
-
Participate in on-call support and major incident resolution when required.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris 10 & 11.

Expertise in Solaris Zones, ZFS, SMF, and Solaris networking and boot prompts

Good knowledge of OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management, and system security.

Experience supporting enterprise production environments.

Knowledge of shell scripting (KSH/Bash) will be advantageous.

Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

Experience supporting legacy infrastructure environments.

Exposure to storage technologies, backup solutions, and virtualization platforms.
