The Role
As part of a SAP Brownfield Implementation and Enhancement Programme, this role supports the organization’s business transformation journey to transition into a secure, modern, cloud-aligned SAP S/4HANA platform. The objective is to enable continuous transformation, operational agility, and AI-driven growth.
The role is aligned with a decoupling strategy focused on establishing a clean core architecture, ensuring that the SAP S/4HANA system leverages standard SAP capabilities across key business domains, while minimizing customizations and technical debt. Overall, the role is pivotal in maintaining environment integrity, minimizing risks, and accelerating delivery timelines while aligning with enterprise governance, compliance standards, and the broader goal of building a future-ready, AI-enabled SAP platform.
Your responsibilities:
The SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for managing and optimizing the technical landscape of SAP S/4HANA systems within an existing environment. The role focuses on ensuring system performance, stability, and availability while supporting ongoing transformation and enhancement initiatives.
The consultant works on system administration, landscape management, and technical operations, including installations, upgrades, patches, and system monitoring. A key responsibility is to support brownfield transformations, ensuring smooth system conversion, data consistency, and minimal disruption to business operations.
The role also involves managing system integrations, transports, and security configurations, while collaborating with functional and technical teams to support business processes. Additionally, the consultant plays a critical role in performance tuning, incident resolution, and production support in a live environment.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Strong experience in SAP Basis administration for S/4HANA and/or ECC landscapes
Hands-on expertise in system installation, upgrades, patching, and kernel updates
Experience in S/4HANA system conversion (Brownfield) and landscape transformation
Solid understanding of SAP architecture, transport management (STMS), and system landscape design
Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, and system optimization (HANA DB focus)
Knowledge of SAP HANA database administration (backup, recovery, monitoring)
Experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and production support
Strong exposure to system integrations and interface management
Expertise in user administration, role management, and security basics
Familiarity with change management and release processes in live environments
Ability to ensure high system availability, stability, and business continuity
Experience working with cross-functional teams (functional, infra, cloud, network)
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
Extensive knowledge in supply chain operations area for retail clients.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations (SUM with DMO, system conversion tools)
Exposure to SAP cloud environments (RISE with SAP, Azure, AWS, GCP)
Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager / Focused Run / monitoring tools
Experience in automation tools (scripts, scheduling, job automation)
Understanding of Fiori architecture, Gateway, and frontend-server management
Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) setups
Experience in SAP security audits and compliance standards
Exposure to DevOps practices in SAP landscapes
Knowledge of SAP interface technologies (IDoc, RFC, API, CPI basics)
Experience working in retail / high transaction volume environments
SAP certifications in S/4HANA Basis or HANA administration
