The Role: As an Enterprise Governance Architect, you will operate and continuously improve the enterprise architecture governance model across a large and complex technology environment. You will provide architectural leadership for governance forums, assurance processes, technology decision-making and enterprise visibility of technology change. The role acts as a critical link between architecture strategy, governance, portfolio management and technology delivery, ensuring strategic technology investments align with agreed standards, target architectures and enterprise priorities while enabling faster and more effective delivery.
Your responsibilities:
- Operate architecture governance processes, decision forums and design authority activities across Group CTO.
- Manage governance workflows, submissions, approvals and architectural decision records to ensure clear and traceable decision-making.
- Ensure governance forums focus on strategic outcomes and enterprise decisions rather than low-value design checking.
- Provide enterprise-level assurance across major programmes, platform initiatives and strategic technology investments.
- Assess proposed solutions against enterprise architecture strategy, roadmap direction, target architectures and agreed standards.
- Identify cross-programme dependencies, duplication, strategic risks and opportunities for consolidation or reuse.
- Own and develop enterprise architecture management processes supported by LeanIX, including landscape, dependency, capability and roadmap visibility.
- Support portfolio, investment and change governance by providing architectural oversight, strategic challenge and enterprise-wide impact assessment.
- Develop and improve governance processes, decision rights, architecture lifecycle management and the architecture operating model.
- Produce governance reporting, metrics and insight for senior stakeholders, monitoring governance effectiveness and driving continuous improvement.
Your Profile:
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong Enterprise Architecture experience, ideally within complex enterprise technology environments.
- Experience leading architecture governance, design authority forums and enterprise decision-making processes.
- Strong understanding of architecture assurance, technology risk, governance controls and strategic technology oversight.
- Experience using LeanIX or an equivalent enterprise architecture platform to improve visibility, reporting and decision support.
- Knowledge of portfolio governance, strategic planning, technology roadmaps and target-state architecture alignment.
- Ability to assess cross-programme dependencies, duplication, enterprise impacts and strategic risks.
- Experience developing and improving architecture operating models, governance workflows, decision rights and lifecycle processes.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management and communication skills with senior technology and business leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology landscapes, capabilities, dependencies and strategic initiatives.
- Ability to balance governance discipline with pragmatic delivery enablement and continuous improvement.
