Your responsibilities:
Lead the migration of thousands of virtual machines from on-premises environments to Oracle Cloud VMware Solution.
Ensure minimal downtime across manufacturing, retail, online, logistics, marketing, finance and supply chain applications during migrations.
Manage VM re-IPing and network reconfiguration at the target destination where necessary to ensure smooth routing.
Design and configure hybrid cloud environments using advanced VMware HCX tools for seamless live workloads.
Manage cloud infrastructure components including software-defined storage with VMware vSAN and networking with NSX-T.
Take ownership of OCVS administration to maintain the full control and flexibility of a traditional on-premises setup.
Collaborate with business teams to align cloud infrastructure with manufacturing schedules and retail trading cycles.
Troubleshoot complex issues across critical supply chain logistics networks and online high- volume transaction systems.
Automate routine tasks to modernise the traditional IT landscape across marketing platforms and corporate systems.
Provide technical guidance to cross-functional stakeholders throughout the entire lifecycle of the transformation program.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Proven experience migrating thousands of virtual machines from on-premises environments to public cloud platforms.
Deep technical expertise in Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) or equivalent cloud-based VMware platforms.
Hands-on proficiency with VMware HCX, including advanced features like live vMotion and bulk migrations.
Strong understanding of networking infrastructure, specifically network virtualization with VMware NSX-T and OCI FastConnect.
Expertise in managing IP address reconfigurations (re-IPing) and routing adjustments during large-scale migrations.
Experience administering VMware enterprise components, including vSphere, vCenter, and software-defined storage with vSAN.
Background supporting critical business systems across manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and online retail sectors.
Ability to plan migrations around business cycles, such as 24/7 factory operations and high- volume retail trading peaks.
Proficiency in automation and scripting to streamline migration tasks and modernise infrastructure deployment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills to communicate technical risks and updates clearly to cross-functional business teams.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
Relevant industry certifications, such as OCI Migration Architect Professional credential or equivalent advanced cloud certifications.
Prior experience working in hybrid cloud environments involving both Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and on-premises data centres.
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions, specifically enterprise platforms like Commvault and Rubrik.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS),Finance and migrating critical supply chain applications.
Experience hosting and configuring Web servers (such as Apache, Nginx, or IIS) within a VMware cloud environment.
Understanding of containerised applications and microservices architectures such as Docker, Podman.
Knowledge of application delivery and load balancing, specifically using VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (Avi Networks).
Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, like Terraform, to automate the provisioning of OCVS environments.
Understanding of cloud security best practices, SIEM integration, threat detections and Next Gen-Firewalls.
Previous experience working within Agile or DevOps frameworks during large-scale enterprise transformation projects.
Strong documentation skills for mapping out complex network topographies and post- migration validation procedures.
