The Role

We are seeking experienced Electronics Test Engineers to support development, validation, and qualification testing of aerospace and marine engine electronic control systems.
-
The role involves working on Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), test rig development, test software development, and validation of critical electronic hardware used in safety-critical engine applications.

The successful candidate will be involved in the complete test lifecycle, from requirements analysis through test software development, system validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
Your responsibilities:
Test System Development
-
Develop, maintain, and enhance Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) solutions for engine electronic control products.

Design and develop test software using National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand.
-
Develop and execute automated test sequences for production acceptance, qualification, and verification testing.
-
Integrate instrumentation, DAQ hardware, PXI systems, and third-party equipment into automated test systems.
Electronics Testing & Validation
-
Perform functional, environmental, qualification, and Design Assurance Testing (DAT).
-
Execute electrical, analogue, digital, and mixed-signal hardware testing.
-
Conduct fault investigation, root cause analysis, and failure diagnostics.
-
Support Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), vibration, thermal, and reliability testing.

Validate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Test Rig & Engine Control Systems

Support development and maintenance of engine control test rigs.
-
Commission and validate new test systems and test benches.
-
Interface with Engine Electronic Controllers (EEC/ECU), fuel metering systems, actuators, sensors, and control electronics.

Perform test data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
Technical Documentation

Review and interpret test specifications, requirements, and design documentation.

Generate test procedures, validation reports, qualification reports, and verification evidence.

Maintain configuration-controlled documentation.
Continuous Improvement
-
Drive automation and efficiency improvements in testing processes.
-
Support migration of legacy test systems to modern automated platforms.
-
Develop reusable test frameworks and libraries.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Technical Skills
-
4-10 years of electronics test engineering experience within Aerospace, Defence, Marine, Automotive, Rail, or other safety-critical industries.
Strong hands-on experience with:
o NI LabVIEW
o NI TestStand
o Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
o PXI-based test systems
o Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems

Good understanding of:
o Digital and analogue electronics
o Electronic control systems
o Sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
o Serial communication protocols (RS232, RS485, CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet)

Experience in test software development and validation.

Strong fault-finding and debugging capability.
Industry Experience
Experience in one or more of the following:
