TCS Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a well established precision engineering manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Technician (CMM) to join their quality team on a double days shift pattern.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled inspection professional with strong CMM and manual measurement experience to join a quality focused manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Quality Technician, you will support internal inspection activities across production, ensuring components meet drawing specifications and customer requirements. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, supporting process control, and ensuring accurate inspection documentation. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to help drive continuous improvement and reduce non conformances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform product inspection using manual measuring equipment
  • Operate CNC CMM machines using PCDMIS software
  • Complete inspection reports against marked technical drawings
  • Interpret GD&T and geometric tolerances
  • Conduct supplier incoming inspection and record results
  • Analyse non conforming parts and support corrective actions
  • Maintain quality system documentation and records
  • Perform routine equipment TPM checks
  • Support improvements in manufacturing quality and productivity

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years manual inspection experience in a precision engineering environment
  • At least 2 years operating CNC CMM equipment
  • Basic programming knowledge of PCDMIS
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawings
  • Experience using equipment such as height gauges, shadowgraphs, micrometers and verniers
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Experience using surface finish testing equipment
  • Familiarity with quality systems and inspection documentation processes

Working Hours

Double Days Shift Pattern:

  • Morning Shift: 05:50 – 14:00 (Monday to Thursday), 05:50 – 12:40 (Friday)
  • Afternoon Shift: 13:50 – 22:15 (Monday to Thursday), 12:30 – 18:20 (Friday)

Initial training will take place on day shift for the first two months.
