TCS Consulting is supporting a specialist precision engineering manufacturer in the search for an experienced Quality Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role within a high-precision aerospace and defence manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead and continuously improve the Quality Management System, while promoting a strong right-first-time culture across CNC machining, complex assemblies, inspection and test operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with aerospace and customer expectations
  • Lead internal, external, customer and supplier audits, ensuring actions are closed effectively
  • Manage non-conformances, concessions, containment, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Oversee inspection planning, FAIR/FAI packs, production inspection reporting and metrology processes
  • Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, rework, customer returns, escapes and OTIF impact
  • Drive improvements in quality systems, data visibility, traceability, reporting and digital ways of working

Requirements

  • Significant Quality Management experience within precision engineering, CNC machining or aerospace/defence manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of FAIR/FAI requirements, inspection reporting, traceability and batch control
  • Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions, root cause analysis and audit processes
  • Good understanding of metrology, dimensional inspection, engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications
  • Experience working with aerospace quality standards or AS9100-aligned systems
  • Strong computer literacy, with confidence using quality systems, digital tools and data-driven reporting
