My client is looking for an experienced or developing HVAC Engineer to join our growing team. This role would suit someone who already has some practical experience within ventilation, HVAC, ductwork, building services or a related trade and is looking to develop their technical knowledge, qualifications and career within the ventilation industry. You will work primarily across our domestic ventilation contracts, carrying out the surveying, installation, servicing, maintenance and commissioning of ventilation systems, with opportunities to become involved in larger communal, commercial and capital works projects. We are looking for engineers who can work confidently on site, take responsibility for the quality of their work and continue developing through both practical experience and recognised industry training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surveying domestic ventilation systems and identifying defects or required remedial works
  • Installing, replacing and maintaining MEV, MVHR and extract ventilation systems
  • Installing, repairing and modifying ventilation ductwork
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
  • Cleaning and maintaining ventilation systems, grilles, valves and ductwork
  • Carrying out airflow testing, balancing and commissioning
  • Recording supply and extract airflow rates and comparing performance against design requirements
  • Diagnosing ventilation faults and identifying appropriate remedial actions
  • Inspecting existing installations and reporting on system condition
  • Carrying out fire and smoke damper inspection and maintenance where suitably trained
  • Reading technical drawings, system layouts and manufacturer information
  • Completing digital job reports, inspection records and commissioning documentation
  • Providing clear photographic evidence before, during and after works
  • Identifying additional works and reporting recommendations to the office or project team
  • Ensuring tools, equipment and company vehicles are maintained appropriately
  • Following Risk Assessments, Method Statements and company Health & Safety procedures
  • Maintaining a professional standard when working within occupied residential properties and client premises

Experience & Knowledge

We are looking for candidates with some previous experience within one or more of the following areas:

  • Domestic ventilation
  • MEV and MVHR systems
  • Extract fan installation and maintenance
  • Ventilation or HVAC servicing
  • Ductwork installation
  • Building services
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical or plumbing installations
  • Property maintenance or construction

Direct ventilation experience is preferred, although candidates from related trades will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong practical ability and a willingness to develop. An understanding of airflow testing, commissioning, fault finding and domestic ventilation principles would be particularly advantageous.
