We are looking for a skilled and motivated GSE Technician to join our Workshop team in Glasgow. This is a hands‑on role working in a fast‑paced operational environment, responsible for the repair, maintenance and inspection of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and associated vehicles. You will play a vital role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and maintained to the highest standards in line with company procedures and ISO frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out repair and maintenance of GSE and associated vehicles in line with company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose faults accurately and communicate required work and parts to the Workshop Supervisor before commencing repairs.
- Complete inspections, brake tests and smoke tests, identifying and reporting defects prior to repair.
- Ensure all job cards and inspection sheets are completed accurately to the current stage of repair, including non‑productive time.
- Update the Workshop Supervisor promptly on additional work, parts requirements or vehicle‑on‑road (VOR) issues.
- Present work orders to Stores to enable parts issue and ensure all parts are correctly booked using the provided systems and iPad.
- Label, segregate and store parts correctly, including warranty and exchange units.
- Inform the Workshop Supervisor immediately upon completion of work.
- Quarantine, label and report defective tools, equipment or parts without delay.
- Work independently outdoors in varying weather conditions when required.
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours rota in line with the on‑call policy.
Working Days/Hours – Including Oncall
- 7‑day week including on‑call once a month, which includes the weekend.
- 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday
- 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
- On‑call: one week in four to cover the weekend.
