Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified GSE Technicians with servicing, maintenance, and repair activities under direct supervision.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of machine tools and workshop equipment.
  • Operate machinery safely following completion of relevant safety instruction and supervision.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or nominated GSE Technician to support training and development objectives.
  • Request parts using SAP systems.
  • Maintain work bays and surrounding workshop areas in a clean and organised condition.
  • Ensure special tools and equipment are maintained correctly and report any defects immediately.
  • Ensure all completed work is checked and approved by a qualified technician.
  • Accurately complete electronic job cards, inspections, and workshop administration paperwork.
  • Record productive and non‑productive time correctly for authorisation.
  • Support periodic servicing of vehicles and machinery under supervision.
  • Complete electronic service and inspection documentation accurately and in line with company standards.
  • Participate in on‑the‑job training, classroom learning, and e‑learning activities throughout the apprenticeship programme.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Use PPE and safety equipment correctly at all times.
  • Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, or defective equipment immediately.
  • Support investigations into incidents and contribute to improving workplace safety.
  • Adhere to company Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety policies in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 frameworks.
  • Ensure waste is correctly identified and segregated in accordance with environmental requirements.

Training & Development

  • Complete an accredited apprenticeship programme through practical and classroom‑based learning.
  • Work towards recognised NVQ qualifications during the training period.
  • Gain increasing responsibility and exposure to more complex workshop tasks throughout the apprenticeship.

Experience
