Audit Support Manager - 3-Month FTC

Immediate Start - Hybrid - 3 days from Heathrow Office - 2 days remote.

The Opportunity

Join our Finance team as an

Interim Audit Support Manager , where you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of the UK year-end statutory audit.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will act as the primary liaison between the Finance team and external auditors, coordinating audit requests, reviewing submissions, and ensuring all audit deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong financial accounting knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

You'll also use SAP Fiori extensively to extract financial information, investigate transactions, and compile supporting audit evidence, enabling the Finance leadership team to remain focused on business-as-usual activities throughout the audit process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main day-to-day contact for external auditors throughout the UK year-end audit.
  • Manage the audit request process, ensuring requests are allocated, tracked and completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain audit tracking reports and provide regular progress updates to Finance leadership.
  • Coordinate responses across Finance and other business functions to ensure timely delivery of audit evidence and queries.
  • Review audit responses before submission, ensuring they are accurate, complete and appropriately supported.
  • Escalate risks or delays that may impact audit timelines.
  • Maintain an organised repository of audit evidence and supporting documentation.
  • Extract financial reports, review transactions and obtain supporting information using SAP Fiori.
  • Perform reconciliations and analyse financial data to support audit requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and year-end schedules.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve audit coordination, documentation and future audit readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • What We Are Looking For

Skills, Experience & Behaviours

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or qualified through significant relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting or coordinating external statutory audits.
  • Strong understanding of UK statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with SAP Fiori to extract and analyse financial information.
  • Experience coordinating audit activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with strong Power Point capability.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with Big Four audit firms.
  • Experience using audit request management tools or shared document repositories.
  • Previous experience identifying and implementing audit process improvements.
