Our Belfast Container Freight Station (CFS) plays an important role in our freight operations, handling the loading, unloading, storage and distribution of international cargo.
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our Belfast team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with forklift experience to become part of a busy warehouse operation within a growing international logistics business.
About the Role:
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our Belfast CFS.
The role involves handling inbound and outbound cargo, loading and unloading trailers and containers, maintaining accurate warehouse records and ensuring freight is processed efficiently.
You will work closely with our warehouse and freight operations teams to ensure cargo is handled safely, accurately and in accordance with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently.
- Devanning containers and ensuring cargo is handled appropriately.
- Completing accurate outturn reports, including recording cargo quantities, condition and any discrepancies.
- Using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to record and track cargo movements.
- Carrying out pick and pack activities, ensuring orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Conducting routine forklift checks and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment through general housekeeping duties.
- Following all company health and safety procedures and promoting safe working practices.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, safety and operational performance.
- Assisting colleagues with other general warehouse duties as required.
Experience & Skills:
We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious individual who can work efficiently as part of a busy warehouse team.
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to handle cargo accurately.
- A reliable, flexible and hardworking approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or freight handling environment.
- Experience loading and unloading containers and trailers.
- Familiarity with warehouse management or transport management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
