About The Trainee Auditor Role

Due to significant growth in the client base, our Steyning office has an opportunity for a full‑time Trainee Auditor to join the audit team.
Joining the team as an apprentice, you’ll work towards a formal accountancy qualification and start your journey towards a fulfilling and rewarding career. Key Responsibilities Of a Trainee Auditor Will Include
- Initially work as part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibility for your clients and eventually building your own client portfolio
- Conduct audits as part of a wider team, ensuring appropriate and sufficient documentation is obtained to support the audit opinion
- Prepare account statements
- Prepare analysis of accounting data from clients’ books and records
- Involve in the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment supporting the audit manager
- Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements
- Identify and understand client needs, providing initial solutions to client challenges and communicating these to the audit manager
- Build strong relationships with new and established clients
- Carry out ad‑hoc assignments as reasonably required
- Travel to local and national clients on a regular basis
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Dynamic individuals with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grades 4 and above), A‑Levels in either Mathematics, Business or Economics, AAT or similar qualification preferred
- Highly personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A logical approach and strong numeracy skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills as a minimum
- Own car and full driving licence
