Trainee Accountant β Clacton on Sea
Salary: β competitive, depending on experience
Hours: β Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

About The Trainee Accountant Role

We have an exciting role for a Trainee Accountant in our Clacton on Sea office to start in June / July 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in accountancy, joining an apprenticeship scheme. You will work towards an internationally recognised accountancy qualification (AAT Level 2, 3, and 4 with the chance to continue studies further) and gain valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm.
You will join a dynamic accounts team with a high-quality client base and rapidly gain responsibility while completing your accounting qualification with us. You will learn about the preparation of financial accounts, interpretation of financial data, and accounting and tax legislation. Equally important, you will learn how to work effectively in a team, build professional relationships, and deliver exceptional client service. This diverse role requires a willingness to learn and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities of a Trainee Accountant
- Assisting the team with accounts preparation
- Preparing management accounts
- Bookkeeping for clients
- Preparing tax computations for internal review
- Clearing tax and manager reviews
- Liaising with clients on accounts and tax queries
- Assisting with office administrative tasks
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English at GCSE (level 7 preferred) and relevant A Levels grade C and above
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
- Good attitude and willingness to succeed
- Previous Excel experience is preferable but not essential
- Interest in progressing within an accountancy practice
- Good analytical skills
- Strong organisational skills
