Location: Farnham – Full time or Part time, Permanent, UK based.

About the Role: The Outsourcing Assistant will support the Outsourcing Team in managing daily bookkeeping, reconciling control accounts, and ensuring month-end reviews are accurate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients and reconcile control accounts including month-end reviews.
  • Review client entries and advise on corrections or efficiency improvements.
  • Resolve queries and prepare VAT returns for review and filing.
  • Communicate directly with HMRC when necessary and undertake general administration tasks.
  • Provide support to clients on various bookkeeping and accounting packages.
  • Visit clients as required to resolve bookkeeping issues or undertake related projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • AAT training.
  • Experience with Xero (certified preferred), Sage, QuickBooks or Dext.
  • Ability to work independently and liaise directly with clients, as well as within a team.
  • VAT experience and knowledge to prepare returns.
  • Management accounts experience favourable.
  • Personal Tax and MTD ITSA knowledge and experience favourable.
  • CIS awareness.
  • Positive team-player with a “can do” attitude.
  • Accurate data entry skills with excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CCH is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-level client service.
