Job Description
Salary – National Apprentice Wage
Hours – Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working – after successful completion of probation period
Holiday – 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days)
About the Tax Apprentice role

We have an exciting new role for a Tax Apprentice to join our Stanley, County Durham office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in tax advisory, joining an apprenticeship scheme, you will be working towards an internationally recognised tax qualification (ATT) and gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm.
You will join a dynamic Tax team with a high-quality client base and rapidly gain responsibility whilst at the same time completing your accounting qualification with us.
Key responsibilities of a Tax Apprentice will include:
- Personal Tax Returns
- Corporate Tax Returns
- P11ds
- Company Secretarial work
- Tax Team admin work (i.e., chasing client information, corresponding with HMRC (Telephone, Email, Letters) etc.
About you:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4-9 including English and Maths.
- Keen to have a career in tax and to study tax qualifications.
- Flexible work attitude and willingness to learn.
- Great communication and customer service skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Excellent integrity & ethical standards.
