Due to significant growth in the client base, our Steyning office has an opportunity for a full time Trainee Auditor to join the audit team.

Joining the team as an apprentice, you’ll work towards a formal accountancy qualification and start your journey towards a fulfilling and rewarding career. Key responsibilities of a Trainee Auditor:

  • Initially part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibility for your clients and eventually developing your own client portfolio.
  • Conduct audits as part of a wider team, ensuring appropriate and sufficient documentation is obtained to support the audit opinion.
  • Prepare accounts and analysis of accounting data from clients' books and records.
  • Be involved in the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment supporting the audit manager.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit methodology and risk management and external regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and understand client needs, provide initial solutions to client challenges and communicate these to the audit manager.
  • Build strong relationships with new and established clients.
  • Carry out ad hoc assignments as reasonably required.
  • Travel to local and national clients on a regular basis.

About you:

  • Dynamic individuals with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grades 4 and above), A-Levels in either Mathematics, Business or Economics or an AAT or similar qualification.
  • Highly personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Logical approach and good with numbers.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills as a minimum.
  • Own car and full driving licence.

Location and Eligibility:

We can only accept applications from candidates who are based in the UK and unfortunately we are unable to provide sponsorship. Competitive market rate salary. Hours Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working.
