We have an exciting opportunity for a CAS Advisor to join our Client Accounting Services team at our Stanley office.

As a CAS Advisor, you will support a portfolio of clients by delivering bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and management accounting services while building strong client relationships.

The role is primarily based at our Stanley office, with occasional working days from our Ferryhill office.

Key responsibilities of a

CAS Advisor will include

  • Deliver a professional and personable service to clients in line with the company's values.
  • Provide bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and management accounting services.
  • Prepare management accounts, reconciliations and year-end accounting support.
  • Analyse financial data and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate cloud accounting records and support digital system adoption.
  • Manage client workflows, meet deadlines and respond to enquiries promptly.
  • Prepare information for client meetings and ensure billing records are up to date.
  • Contribute to process improvements, maintain technical knowledge and support junior team members.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through CPD and support the development of apprentices and junior colleagues.

About you

  • We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • AAT Level 4 qualified, with at least 3 years' experience in an accountancy role (practice experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experienced in using cloud accounting software, including Xero, Quick Books and Sage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital accounting tools such as Dext.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, improve processes and add value for clients.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and client relationship management skills.
  • Proactive, accountable and able to manage workloads and deadlines effectively.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
